Prune, 2024

Prune explores the complexities of identity, conformity, and societal expectations through the metaphor of cut flowers. White flowers, with intentionally cut and reshaped petals, symbolises how society enforces rigid standards on individuals, pressuring them to conform to a uniform ideal. Yet, even with petals and individuality cut away, the vibrant and varied core of each flower remains untouched, evoking the sense of self that persists despite external pressures. Prune investigates how personal identity can be shaped or masked by societal norms, yet still maintains an irreducible core of individuality.
